Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Lynne Hobaica grew up in two houses full of people. She grew up in a large family of wildly different personalities, where she began to understand the vastness of emotion, and how to understand or appreciate the emotional languages of those around her. She received her BFA from Syracuse University in 2010 where she studied both the History of Art and Ceramics. After completing her bachelors, Lynne moved to other parts of New York, then to Pennsylvania. She later completed her MFA in Conceptual Ceramic Sculpture at the University of Art and Design in Linz, Austria. Lynne realized after having lived and traveled to so many cities, she learned about how through distance and time relationships evolve and grow, which along with emotional communications became huge inspiration to her work. Hobaica has interned at museums including the Everson Art Museum in Syracuse, NY and the Museum of Northern Arizona. She was a resident at Flower City Arts Center in the years 2010-2011 and is currently a resident at Pottery Northwest.
