Jane Brumfield only recently began to make art after a thirty year gap, during which time she work as a visual arts curator. She graduated from Brighton University with a B.A degree in fine art, studying sculpture, but began a career working in small regional art museums throughout Sussex and Kent in the UK . She was introduced to printmaking in the past year and found a particular affinity to linocut, and the problem solving of the reductive linocut process.
Her subject matter is made up of the things that make her happy- her garden, chickens, and the Oregon forests. Her work is representational, but her concerns are with mark making, patterns and texture.
