Now Open By Appointment through June 27
It feels like so long since we closed the doors for visitors and had to move all our attention to our online sales. During this time we have added to our collections with new work by John Westmark, Lisa Bryson and Carla O'Connor. This exhibit will now be available for viewing at the gallery, by appointment through June 27. To make an appointment email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are interested in seeing other work from our website, or from a previous visit, let us know when you make the appointment. Not all the work in our collections is currently at the gallery, so we would need a heads-up to make sure it is there and available for you.
From Here to There
New Gallery Opening August 8 • 1033 Marine Drive, Astoria
This has been quite some year for everyone, and being nimble and flexible has been the key to not letting it get the better of you. About a year ago, we decided we wanted to open a second gallery in Astoria: partly because some friends had just opened a gallery there and there seems to be a growing energy around the arts there; and partly because it is our home town.
We picked out a location and patiently waited for the build-out to begin. It didn't... To be fair the landlord had a lot on his plate with other projects, but six months later we began to feel it was never going to happen. We got antsy and anxious, and started looking for a new property. We got wind that Bergerson & Tile on Marine were moving, and jumped on this chance. We quickly secured the property and were given a definite timeline.
Then the pandemic happened... We had to close our Cannon Beach gallery to visitors, and it has remained closed for the past three months. Our website has eased the pain a little, but missing the spring and early summer visitors was a big hit - and a reality check.
A business needs a certain level of resilience to weather the every changing economic landscape, and we have alway been good at planning for the worst. But the level of this particular economic disaster, its duration and probable ongoing impact was a shock. We have realized that if we had been paying for two spaces through this, we may not have faired so well. So we had to make a decision.
Apart from limited opening by appointment through June 27, Imprint Gallery in Cannon Beach will not reopen. We are focussing on the future and our new gallery in Astoria. This was a tough decision, but now we have made it we are moving on positively, and are excited about what is to come.
We are opening a new gallery in beautiful space, in the vibrant town where we live. We have a great program lined up and we hope to see you all there.
