The studio at Imprint Gallery has been established as a social enterprise to offer an introduction to printmaking. This includes taster demos and workshop programs. We believe that art enriches lives and this project focuses on building community through the arts. We do this through printmaking, because the very nature of the practice is often dependent on the support of others. Printmakers are seasoned community builders, and because printmaking is such an immediate way of making an image, it is a great introduction to the visual arts.
Weekend Linocut Printmaking Drop-ins
Our Drop-in Linocut session are intended to be a first taster of printmaking. It is a great rainy-day activity, or a way of testing out the medium before signing up for a full class. There is no need to book, just turn up and subject to availability you can take a work station and we'll get you printing. There are six work stations. Your session can be as long (within studio hours) or as short as you like. You just pay a small fee plus any additional materials costs.
We offer two activities, "Ink & Print", and "Start To Finish". "Ink & Print" gives you a choice of our many studio plates. We show you how to ink up and print. "Start to Finish", has you carving your own plate, creating your own unique print. If you choose to make your own plate allow yourself at least one hour to complete your masterpiece. Children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult participant.

Private Classes & Group Bookings
We specialize in no-toxic printmaking techniques, and can organize a workshop for your family or friends tailored to your groups size and experience. The ideal group size is 4-6 people. Pricing is based on four participants, with a fee for each additional participant. The workshops are not suitable for young children (under 8 years old), as we do use sharp tools. Groups including children under 12 years old should have at least one adult per two children. Fees include all materials.
Taster Classes Taster classes are available in linocut or drypoint techniques. They last one to two hours, dependent on the number of participants. Four participants can easily complete the class in one hour, but more participants require more time. In the class participants will learn how to create a small and simple plate, ink and print. Each participant will go home with a print of their own, and a group print. Subject to availability, Taster Classes can be booked for Mondays, Thursdays & Fridays, with start times ranging from 11am - 5pm, or Saturday & Sunday with a start time of 5pm. Check Availability
One-Day Introductory Class Our introductory classes are available in linocut, drypoint, monotype, or electro etching.
