Drop-in Acrylic Drypoint Printmaking

This two-day workshop, led by Jani Hoberg, is for students with some printmaking experience.
Using copper plates, students will work on two images, with time for reworking. The plate is coated with a slow drying etching ground. This ground can have textures (like leaves) pressed into it and it can be drawn into. Both techniques expose the copper underneath. The plate is then etched with Ferric Chloride. The resulting impression from printing gives a soft granular texture. This technique works for those who love textures and those who love to draw.
Class limited to six participants. Participants should bring a sketchbook and any soft thin textural objects. Fee includes Studio time, tuition and materials. Class runs 10am - 3pm both days, including a 1 hour lunch break.
